Diversity alone just means people are different. It can be good to learn new ideas, and see other ways of doing things, but an endless stream of diversity is just chaos, instability and uncertainty. And that works in favor of the elite and already wealthy.

I’M GOING TO WRITE IN ALL CAPS TO SET OFF MY REMARKS FROM YOURS. SHOUTING IS NOT INTENDED.

“ENDLESS STREAM???” FROM WHERE TO WHERE?

I’VE NOT GIVEN IT MUCH THOUGHT, BUT MY KNEE JERKS THAT CHAOS, INSTABILITY AND UNCERTAINTY CREATES MORE OPPORTUNITY FOR THE HAVE NOTS AND CAUSES MAJOR ANXIETY AMONG THE HAVES. I KNOW OF NO LITERATURE ON THAT.

The recent move toward nationalism and more conservatism addresses that. People realize that the elites have a completely different set of interests and values and that’s the root of their obsession with diversity.

I STARTED MY SECOND CAREER TEACHING WORKING CLASS KIDS AND ENDED IT TEACHING THE CHILDREN OF THE ELITE. I WAS UNABLE TO OBSERVE ANY “OBSESSION WITH DIVERSITY” IN EITHER PLACE.

THE MAJOR PLACE IT CAME UP WAS AS ONE OF THE UNDERPINNINGS OF AFFIRMATIVE ACTION. A MUCH STURDIER SUPPORT THAN PRESENT REMEDY FOR PAST DISCRIMINATION BOTH BECAUSE THE LATTER REQUIRES A METHOD FOR ENDING IT AND BECAUSE THE FORMER BENEFITS WHITE KIDS NOW AND WILL CONTINUE TO BENEFIT THEM FROM THE OTHER DIRECTION AS THEY BECOME THE MINORITY.

People are recognizing that a big part of the desire by liberals to get women into the workplace was for better access to cheap labor. Same with the desire for immigration, including illegal immigration.

THIS IS OFF A PLANET OTHER THAN THE ONE WHERE I USED TO PRACTICE CIVIL RIGHTS LAW. I’M THINKING ABOUT THE MAJOR CASES RE “GETTING WOMEN INTO THE WORKPLACE.” THEY INVOLVED UNION LINEMEN (WAGES NOT AN ISSUE) AND JOCKEYS (PAYMENT NORMALLY BY FIXED PERCENTAGE OF THE PURSE). ON THE OTHER SIDE, THERE WAS A LAWSUIT TO OPEN FLIGHT ATTENDANT JOBS TO MEN.

WHAT LIBERALS WANTED AND STILL WANT IS EQUAL PAY FOR EQUAL WORK, WHICH SEEMS TO ME THE OPPOSITE OF THE MOTIVES YOU HAVE GINNED UP.

AN ULTERIOR MOTIVE FOR TRAINING MEN TO BE NURSES AND GRADE SCHOOL TEACHERS IS TO RAISE WAGES. SUITS ME, EVEN IF THE METHOD IS DISAPPOINTING.

THERE WAS A TIME WHEN YOU COULD REALLY GET A RISE OUT OF ME BY CALLING ME A LIBERAL, BUT I’VE GOTTEN OVER IT. I DON’T THINK IT’S SO BUT I NO LONGER CARE TO ARGUE ABOUT IT.

For a rich person the lower wages caused by feminism is a GOOD thing. More poverty is good, too — more desperate workers. An increased supply of labor, the ability to outsource, etc, are GOOD things.

COULD YOU SPARE ME A COUPLE OF SOCIAL SCIENCE CITATIONS IN REPUTABLE JOURNALS FOR THE PROPOSITION THAT FEMINISM CAUSES WAGES TO FALL? PLAINLY, I’VE BEEN RETIRED TOO LONG TO KEEP UP WITH THE CUTTING EDGE.

Thus accusing the lower classes of “racism” and demanding they accept “more diversity” is really about the wealthy getting lower wages and more opportunities for arbitrage, playing one group against another.

AGAIN SHOWING MY DISTANCE FROM WHAT’S HAPPENING, I MISSED THOSE ACCUSATIONS AND THOSE DEMANDS. COULD YOU ID THE CULPRITS FOR ME?
