My Last Attempt to Resurrect This Column on Medium Did Not Go Well

But this time, it’s my Cousin Ray Sixkiller insisting he wants to talk.

“When was the last time,” he asked, “there were not one but two, count ’em, two Indian stories in the news?”

I had to admit I can’t remember. But since I got him over here and he’s drinking my coffee, I thought I could sound him out about the Jeffrey Epstein case.

“Oh yeah,” he said, “I don’t follow court cases like you do but I know Epstein was the pimp to the rich folks. And I do have a question.”

“Questions are cheap; sometimes answers are a bit higher.”

“I just wanted to know if Julie K. Brown has collected her Pulitzer Prize yet?”

“I’m impressed, Ray. I know you’re not big on rhetorical questions.”

“I’m not big on Harvard Law professors, either, and I’m curious how you lawyer types processed it when Alan Dershowitz stiff-armed the Pulitzer committee?”

“This time, I’m probably as offended as you are, but I better pause and tell the readers what you are talking about. That’s not usually a problem.”

Excuse me while I collect my thoughts. I don’t want to insult you by saying too much or leave…
