I disagree with your characterization. There were many impeachable offenses before the Mueller Report. Because Mr. Trump does not know the limits of his power, he steps over the line every day before breakfast.

What got Pelosi off the dime was the Ukraine shakedown. She came, kicking and screaming because she still does not want to do it, to the realization that if that’s not an impeachable offense then there is no such thing as an impeachable offense.

It sounds like you think an impeachable offense requires a crime. It does not. If you look at the Federalist debate, they had two main concerns: abuse of power and what we vets call “conduct unbecoming.”

That’s why I did not bitch about the Clinton impeachment in spite of the fact that his perjury did not rise to the level of a felony in my jurisdiction or in most jurisdictions. It was sure as hell “conduct unbecoming.” At least it was then. Trump has moved the wickets so far on lying and sexual misconduct, I’m no longer sure he could get nailed for conduct unbecoming if that last bit of the Steele memos turned out to be true.

As to the Bidens, Hunter Biden was part of a group of westerners all put on the Burisma board at the same time to the end of claiming to turn over a new leaf. Biden fils wrote a memo to Burisma at the time calling attention to the kinds of decisions he could not participate in. I don’t care. He should not have taken the gig under any circumstances because it does not pass the smell test.

I can’t defend Joe Biden because he has not been accused of anything.

It seems to have escaped your notice that Trump was not reaching for an investigation of the Bidens. Not at all. He wanted AN ANNOUNCEMENT that they were under investigation. You know, like Hillary Clinton’s emails?
