In light of your historical discourse, I should throw you an additional bit of information besides the person to whom I write is real…although I can’t disagree about caricature. He wrote me a deeply ignorant series of anonymous letters based on the yard signs I had for candidates.
I am not, by the way, a Democrat.
In over a year, I was able to ID him, and I wrote him a letter inviting him for a cup of coffee so we could discuss these things. I got no response and no more letters.
I live in an age restricted subdivision, so his life experience in terms of public events would be exactly the same as mine.

I’ve been there and done that and, while I do not have a high school diploma, I have three degrees and a disabled veteran license plate to offer as evidence.
