It’s about time somebody pointed out that Trump has created a new idea of qualification for public office: none.

I confess that I did not fully understand the depth of his ignorance until he went overseas and showed the world.

How could the POTUS not know the funding mechanism of NATO?

How could the POTUS not know about the conflict that separated Northern Ireland from Ireland?

How could he visit Scotland and speak publicly without knowing how the Scots stood on Brexit?

How could he claim that our mutual security treaty with Japan was tilted toward Japan when we dictated the terms?

What is his basis for abandoning a major goal of US foreign policy since WWII, stopping nuclear proliferation? He’s made clear that he’s indifferent to new nations joining the nuclear club as long as they do not threaten us. Why?

Could he favor us with an explanation of how he thinks a regional nuclear war can be contained?

Does he seriously believe that supply side economics will start working? If so, when? If not, could he explain his macroeconomic vision, if he has one?

On and on and on…. I disagreed with President Reagan big time. Less so with Bush 41 but Bush 43 tumbled me into a black pit of despair when my son pulled his second tour in Iraq….but Trump? Oh. My. God.

When I look at the President of the United States and see somebody that I do not just disagree with on policy, but rather an individual who lacks the education or the experience to hold the office….when I contemplate that I know more about political science and history and economics than the POTUS, it does not puff me up. It scares the hell out of me.
