Thank you for your thoughtful comments. I agree with much of what you say, but I still stand in genuine puzzlement why The Donald sought the office in the first place or, having attained it, did not find some excuse to declare victory so he could have a little peace and quiet to go with not working.

As I write, the Russian cyberattack joins the pandemic as a major problem he has not bestirred himself to address.

He does not read briefing materials. Goes into high stakes meetings cold. Makes a fool of himself in rooms packed with heads of government.

The man certainly has a strange idea of what is pleasant.
